RSK Ordnance Management (RSK-OM) part of RSK Group, offers services within the bomb disposal and unexploded ordnance (UXO) sector, together with assessments of impacts relating to subsequent and possible ground and environmental contamination risks.

RSK-OM supports RSK businesses and additional clients with services including bomb disposal, UXO and ordnance management, risk assessments, ground investigation, ground contamination remediation and environmental impact mitigation. It also supports and contributes to the vital area of UXO research and investigation, both on land and in marine environments. 

We are now hiring for an Operations Manager on a permanent full time basis from our Boxworth Office in Cambridge.

There will be an expectation that in order to learn all aspects of the role, that the candidate will spend a considerable amount of time in the field, on live UXO tasks during their first year in post. This will ensure that they develop a thorough understanding of all of our equipment, techniques and client reporting

Key Responsibilities: 

Operations Managers are responsible for a wide variety of tasks. Their main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for efficient operations.
  • Enhance systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, overseeing the operations team and other departments.
  • Monitors employee and team performance, offering coaching, UXO training, and feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to align operations with structural objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Implement quality assurance measures for products/services and monitor production KPIs.
  • Enhance customer service quality and satisfaction.
  • Manage supply chain processes, including inventory, production, sales, and sourcing.
  • Optimize workflows and processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee staffing plans, recruitment, and training.
  • Report on operational efficiency and quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
     

Person Specification: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • IMAS 3/3+ or military equivalent qualifications in EOD/IED.
  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in operations, or a leadership role.
  • Industry-specific experience in UXO/EOD/EOC operations, and UK construction
