Key Responsibilities:

Board, investor and lender reporting

  • Own the monthly investor reporting pack end to end, from build and commentary through to detailed review, ready for final sign-off by the Director of FP&A and Commercial Finance.
  • Lead the monthly board and investor reporting timetable, agreeing inputs and deadlines with Management Accounts and divisional finance teams.
  • Handle ad hoc queries and information requests from investors and lenders, preparing supporting analysis and drafting responses for review, often to short deadlines.
  • Ensure all board and external reporting reconciles to the management accounts and the agreed monthly dataset.

Forecasting and cash modelling

  • Own the three statement, multi-year forecast model (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow).
  • Propose top down Group and divisional budget targets from the long-term plan and reconcile them with the bottom up budget.
  • Own the central cash flow model, outputing debt, covenant headroom and liquidity forecasting, working with the Group Treasury team to report this to lenders.
  • Support the Treasury and central accounts teams to build and maintain the daily and 13 week cash forecasting models, ensuring they reconcile to the central cash model and long-term forecast, and review forecast accuracy against actual cash each month.
  • Model scenarios and sensitivities covering growth, margin, cash and covenant compliance.
  • Support strategic decisions with business cases, investment appraisals and acquisition modelling as needed.

Debt, financing and credit insurance

  • Support periodic reporting to our lending banks with the Group Treasury team
  • Keep a calendar of the reporting deadlines and information obligations under our debt facilities.
  • Prepare the periodic information pack for our credit insurers and their brokers, and respond to their queries.
  • Work alongside Group Treasury to keep the cash model aligned with day to day treasury management.

Year-end forecasting support

  • Use your knowledge of the cash flow to support the Financial Reporting team on the going concern assessment in the annual accounts
  • Prepare the forecasts used to test the carrying value of goodwill and acquired businesses.
  • Estimate the value of deferred and contingent consideration from the long-term forecast.
  • Provide this forecast information to the Group Financial Controller to agreed year end deadlines, and explain the key assumptions.

Presentations

  • Build clear presentations for the board, investors and lenders.
  • Work with divisional Finance Directors on divisional content for board and investor meetings.

Commercial projects

  • Support adhoc commercial projects inline with business priorities.

AI-enabled modelling and review

  • Use approved AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot in Excel or Claude) to speed up model building, formula work and scenario analysis.
  • Use AI to review models before they are relied on, checking formula consistency, hard-coded values, broken links and that the balance sheet balances and cash reconciles.
  • Apply rigorous human review to all AI-assisted work, and use AI only in line with company data and information security policies.

Model governance and resilience

  • Set and maintain modelling and review standards for the Group's key external models, with documented checks and version control.

Person Specification:
