RSK Geosciences an RSK Group company are recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Derby, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Geosciences team delivers consultancy and design services to a wide range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. Responsibilities:

  • Completing and managing geotechnical projects from cradle to grave including desk studies and ground investigation phases, through to the production of interpretive reports, planning & design advice, detailed design and specification, works supervision and verification.
  • Design, supervision and management of ground investigation and construction works.
  • Earthworks materials assessment, design, specification, supervision and verification.
  • Technical review of desk study, ground investigation reports and associated documents and/or geotechnical design reports (PSSR,GIR/GDR/GFR), basement impact assessments, earthworks specifications etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc / Beng degree level qualified in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnics or Civil Engineering
  • MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering or related subjects preferable but not essential
  • Experience of supervising intrusive site investigations desirable however training can be given
  • Knowledge of SHEQ issues affecting site works
  • Candidates must be willing to spend a significant amount of their working day out on site and away from home
  • Full UK driving licence
